anxiety and chronic pain therapist NJIf you are hurting emotionally and/or physically, you spend tremendous amount of energy to just “stay afloat”, “manage”, “get through the day”, “carry on”…. the energy that, otherwise, could be put to a better use to enrich your life, propel you to do and enjoy things, build more fulfilling relationships and achieve success however you define it.

My approach is based on two fundamental principles. First, that we are born to be biologically, emotionally and spiritually “connected” to others and second, that faulty relationships, past and present, cause the majority of emotional dysfunctions. I help clients achieve self-awareness and behavior change using insight-oriented and behavioral techniques in a secure, trusting relationship.

I incorporate relevant aspects of my real self in my work. The authenticity, trust and openness between myself and my clients forms a special bond that strengthens your capacity to cope with life’s stressors past and present. I also believe that we are both a mind and a body. They are connected and what influences one influences the other. Powerful emotions, the brain and the mind play a strong role in producing physical symptoms and conditions. Most common among them are neck and back pain, muscle tension and migraines. Attempts to treat those and many other physiological disorders such as acute and chronic pain, jaw pain (TMJ), reflux and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), skin rashes including eczema, joint pain, pelvic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune disorders, etc. without investigating mind-body connection are often ineffective and just prolong the suffering.

Psychophysiological Disorders Therapy (PPDT) – an approach that is proven to be effective in reduction and, in many cases, elimination of centralized pain – focuses on exploration of past traumatic events, current stress-producing circumstances, repressed and unconscious emotions and personality traits (which affect how you respond to stress) as potential causes of chronic pain and other ilnesses.

I look forward to working with you towards your fullest expression in this life, and I value the energy and commitment it takes to trust me to self-reflect on patterns, tendencies and relationship default settings both with the self and with important others in your life.
