Bianca Singer-Barber LPC
A wise woman once said “wherever you go, you bring yourself with you”, so I think it’s important to be in good company.
Undoubtedly, the more harmony we find within ourselves, the more enhanced all aspects of our lives become. I focus on integration and acceptance of the parts of ourselves we may not want to acknowledge. In doing so, we discover the uniqueness, freedom and authenticity of our true self; of feeling whole and secure in our own skin.
When distressing relational experiences (abandonment, neglect, rejection) begin in early childhood, they can interfere with our sense of Self and our ability to establish nourishing, meaningful, safe and reciprocal connections in adulthood. Not only do we tend to choose emotionally unequipped partners, but without awareness, can relive the original emotionally unsafe dynamics. Overtime, these patterns take a toll and contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, low self worth, avoidance, panic attacks, etc.

My Approach
My highly personalized process to therapy includes a blend of yin-yoga philosophies, empathic insight, visualization, mind-body awareness and meditation. Along with evidenced based practices such as CBT , DBT, IFS and EMDR, I am dedicated to providing a unique and authentic therapeutic experience for every individual I work with.
I view myself as a constant work in progress, am committed to my own personal, professional and spiritual expansion and personal journey of understanding Self. Furthermore, I integrate creativity into my work to facilitate a connection to internal healing resources illuminating unconscious material as there is less time spent in the “thinking” part of the brain.
My mission lies in guiding my clients to feel inner freedom, spaciousness, joy, clarity, relaxation and the transformation into a compassionate witness of the mind.
I received my Master’s in Clinical Counseling from NYU University and completed my EMDR training in 2022.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” -Carl Rogers
